As you may know, I am an avid Kings fan since the days of the old purple and yellow. When the team on the ice looked like the team on the hardwood floor. My earliest Kings memories include Marcel Dionne skating with Dave Taylor, a mean and gruff Tiger Williams scaring everybody and a young fresh faced Luc Robitaille scoring his first goal on his first shot on the very first shift in NHL play. They don't call him "Lucky" for nothing.

UPDATE: Here is the best article so far about the series from Battle of California titled "Sister City Slap Fight."
Been following your blog a long time via RSS. Lifelong Dodger fan and huge Canucks fan since I moved to BC 8 years ago. I was a marginal, bandwagon Kings fan growing up in So. Cal. Only after moving here to Canada did I really begin to follow and love hockey. Now the Canucks rival the Dodgers as my favorite team.
ReplyDeleteJust thought I'd say hi, and good luck. You have a great young team there in LA. Especially Drew Doughty!
Take care and go Blue!
Nice to have you here Jason. Although, I am a little confused by your hockey allegiance.
ReplyDeleteCome on! The Canucks! Really?
Is there any way I can convince you to come back home to the true hockey team of your youth?
You know you love the Kings. Admit it!
Nevertheless, at least the team up north has the same colors as the Dodgers.
Whoa, Blue Heaven gets a makeover!
