REA is about ready to open up their always anticipated annual auction, and it promises to be pretty good. Before the official catalogs go out in several weeks they have been updating their blog to include a glimpse at some of the treasures we can expect to find.
Check out this 1916 National League Championship pin that was presented to the members of the Brooklyn Robins- a forerunner of the Dodgers. It belonged to Jake Daubert and was passed on through the generations till it finally ended up in the hands of his great grandson. Additionally, it is thought to be the only remaining pin known to exist from that championship. Although, the auction house expects that some remain hidden within private collections and related family members of the original team. Also of note, Daubert's 1919 World Series pin, while a member of the Reds, will also be on auction. The 1919 Reds defeated the "Black Sox" that year.
