What's better than a vintage pennant that celebrates the World Championship of your favorite club? How about a pennant that also features a full color photo of the team embedded within it.
Here is a scarce pennant from 1963-1964 that features a full team photo of the 1963 World Championship Dodgers. These do not come up for sale very often and usually sell for a premium when they do. Considering this items great condition I'm surprised it didn't sell for more. It sold yesterday at $138.15.

Ernest, do you have any idea if it's possible to repair damaged pennants? I have two of these Dodger photo pennants, both of which have creases in them. The pictures are both in good condition though. I would love to display them, but they're a mess.
ReplyDeleteI am sure there is a way to repair these pennants, but you would have to go to a professional restorer. Unfortunately, I am not aware (or know) of any sports related restorers.
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong, but I would think that the cost would outweigh the benefits.
Also, If it is only creases have you tried ironing them out? I would be careful with this, though, without care it might make it worse.
I've thought about the iron, but have always been too nervous to do it. I'll ask my LCS if he knows anyone.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ernest.
