2012 Goodwin Champions Union Flag Relic Cards

The other day, I went on a little bit of a rant about Upper Deck's inclusion of a Civil War Union/American flag that had been cut up and placed within relic cards for their 2012 Goodwin Champions set.  It just seemed like a really bad idea, and left a bad taste in my mouth.  After a couple of days, I still don't know if I like the idea.

Nevertheless, I thought it necessary to see if any examples had popped up on eBay.  As you can see below, here are two of the cards on auction.

    I don't know...as cool as the card looks that still seems a little wrong to me.

    I'd much rather have them end up as relic cards people will collect and admire than having the flag burned for whatever reason (touching the ground, wearing out, etc). But, yeah, this is a little weird.
