Jeff Kent Introduces Himself on Survivor

As I'm sure you've heard by now, former Dodger second baseman Jeff Kent will be on this upcoming season of Survivor.  It premiers on September 19th at 8/7 central on CBS.  I don't normally watch this show, but I might have to give it try- if only to see if Kent unleashes some grumpiness.  I also want to see if they force them (who will be in the Phillipines) to eat some balut.  It's a Philippine delicacy that is far too disgusting to describe.  Let's just say that it involves a duck egg that has been allowed to grow a little too long.  BTW, I've never tried it... and I'm Filipino!

Check a video introduction of him below.

Dodgers Preview Pics from Panini's 2012 Signature Series Baseball

Even with Baseball coming to a rapid close to the regular season, Baseball card manufacturers are still churning out new sets.

Check out Panini's new offering above and below.  They are reintroducing the Signature Series brand that last graced collectors binders in 2001.  This set promises to be filled with a ton of autographs, and is likely to be very pricey.  Each 6-card pack will include 3 autographs.  Go here and here for information and photos of this set.

BTW, this set is unlicensed from MLB (but licensed through the Players Association) so you will not see any team logos anywhere on the product.

Above is the Matt Kemp card that will feature a on-card signature from him.  Below are cards of Clayton Kershaw and Matt Kemp on the base card.

Dodgers Are Walk-Off Leaders- Watch Them All

As you can see in the tweet above from MLB Stat of the Day, the Dodgers lead the National League in walk-off hits.  And I gotta say, it's giving me heartburn.  Every game I don't know if I should turn off the tv in disgust, or hold on with my palms clinched wishing, no hoping for a come from behind victory.  I swear that my hair is starting to grey because of this.

Anyway, in commemoration of AJ's 3rd walk-off this season (including a walk-off walk) I decided to post up all 8 walk-off hits, 2 walk-off walks and a walk-off from Spring Training below.  BTW, including walks the Dodger have been on the winning side of 10 walk-off victories this season.

Watch last nights walk off below- courtesy of AJ Ellis.

Blog Kiosk: 9/4/2012-- Back After a Labor Day Weekend Break

But look, L.A. has been an incredibly streaky club this year, as frustrating to watch over a stretch of time as any in recent memory. Just about every time they lose a few games – heartbreakers usually, with perhaps only a lone clutch hit the difference between victory and defeat – and we, the fans throw up our hands in resignation, the Dodgers do something dramatic to give us hope.
I understand the feeling.
"They taught me how to send a Twitter and I'm enjoying that immensely. It is fantastic because now I can see how important baseball is for our listeners. I'm getting follower from Argentina, from Costa Rica, from Venezuela ... from all over the world. I had a hint of that, but now I am seeing. They are asking me for more information on the Twitter. I am enjoying that very much."
