The room, about the size of a study, has something on every wall. Dodger year books show no signs of yellowing behind frames. He even has a Dodger line up card and advertisements of ballplayers, like Whit Wyatt, hurling a fastball with Chesterfield cigarettes displayed. The year they won the 1955 World Series, a lower tier ticket cost $7.35. He has a copy of that, too.

"He's not having a very good couple of days here," manager Don Mattingly said before Friday's opener vs. the Reds. "He felt some hamstring stuff yesterday, so he didn't hit today. I would say he's slowing his roll a little bit."
