Following up on the news first reported by Jon Heyman on twitter, it has just officially been announced that Dee Gordon is back with the big club. Per a Dodgers press release:
The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed shortstop Hanley Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain and recalled shortstop Dee Gordon from Triple-A Albuquerque. Gordon, 25, had a .314 batting average with 19 runs scored, eight doubles, two triples and 12 RBI in 25 games with the Isotopes, while leading the Pacific Coast League with 14 stolen bases in 16 attempts. Gordon appeared in 143 big league games in 2011-12, compiling a .260 batting average with 56 steals, a home run and 28 RBI.Unfortunately, this news comes as Hanley Ramirez heads back to the DL. Hopefully, Dee can continue on his hitting tear with the Dodgers. Below are Dee's stats, via Baseball Reference:
Ramirez was removed from last night's game after injuring himself on the bases in the sixth inning. The 29-year-old was reinstated from the disabled list on Monday after right thumb surgery and went 5-for-11 with a home run and an RBI in four games.
