Hanley Did it for the Lulz

So, Friday ended with a bit of intrigue.

Dodgers fans in the social media world were given an unexpected message from Hanley Ramirez on Friday night.  On instagram, he let the world see him comfortably seated in 1st class with a knowing grin.  He typed in the words, "To Los Angeles.... Good news!!!!" 

What ever could this mean?

Are we about to receive news that has long been rumored?  Will the Dominican be staying Blue for the long term?  Are we about to get word that the Dodgers and Hanley Ramirez have come to terms on a new agreement?

Mind's were all a flutter.  Dodger nation thought deeply about the potential move.  Hanley is one of the more dynamic hitters in the game.  Unfortunately, he's also been one of the more injury prone.  There's no doubt, though, that Ramirez can lead a team like the best of them when healthy.  It's just... is he worth the risk?

Well, I guess we'll just have to ponder this notion a little longer because word came out late Saturday morning that this was all just a big joke.  Via Ken Gurnick on twitter:

His agent said Hanley Ramirez's Instagram posting was a joke and he flew to the Dominican Republic, not LA. No contract extension imminent.
