ALMOST THERE: The Dodgers face the San Diego Padres for the second time this spring and their last road game in the Phoenix area. Los Angeles fell to the Padres, 12-5, March 20 at Camelback Ranch during a split-squad contest. Following today’s contest, the Dodgers have one game left at Camelback Ranch tomorrow, before beginning the Freeway Series Thursday night at Dodger Stadium.
  • The Dodgers will play the Padres on Opening Day, April 4 at PETCO Park, which is just six days away!
WALK-OFF WINNERS: The Dodgers rallied in last night’s game and recorded the win in dramatic fashion with a walk-off victory to beat the Texas Rangers at Camelback Ranch, 5-4.
  • Dodger third baseman Justin Turner slugged a game-tying grand-slam home run in the bottom of the fifth inning, recording his second home run of Spring Training. Charlie Culberson, who finished the night going 3-for-4, drove in the game-winning run with a single in the ninth and collected his team-high 12th RBI of the Cactus League season. On the mound, starter Alex Wood allowed four runs on five hits in 5.0 innings and did not factor in the decision. Kenley Jansen (1.1 IP), Chris Hatcher (0.2), Joe Blanton (0.2) and J.P. Howell (1.1) all tossed scoreless baseball for the Dodgers and Howell recorded his first victory of the spring.

THANK YOU, JAMEY!: Prior to last night’s games, veteran right-handed pitcher Jamey Wright announced his retirement. Wright, 41, who signed with the Dodgers on Feb. 24 to a minor league contract with an invite to Spring Training, pitched 19-years in the Majors and appeared in 127 games (one start) in two stints with the Dodgers in 2012 and 2014.
  • Following last night’s game, the Dodgers optioned left-handed pitcher Adam Liberatore to minor-league camp. The Dodgers now have 39 players in big-league camp, excluding Brandon McCarthy and Frankie Montas, who are on the 60-day DL.
TODAY’S PROBABLE PITCHERS:
  • RHP Ross Stripling will make his first Cactus League start in his fourth appearance of the spring, last pitching 2.0 scoreless innings and striking out four against the Royals March 17. He was optioned to minor league camp following the game. Stripling missed the beginning of the 2015 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but combined to go 3-6 with a 3.66 ERA in 14 starts with Double-A Tulsa and Single-A Great Lakes.
  • RHP Louis Coleman will pitch in his 10th game of the spring (0 ER/9.0 IP), after tossing 0.2 of an inning Saturday against the White Sox. He enters his first season with the Dodgers after signing with the club on Feb. 19, 2016.
