Dodgers hurler Kenta Maeda met with some special guest before yesterdays game. The kids from the Tokyo Kitasuna team from Japan, as seen in the photo above shared by Dodgers photographed Jon SooHoo/LA Dodgers 2016, greeted the MLB rookie with giant smiles. As you likely know, they won the 2015 Little League World Series. Check out more pics from Jon from yesterday here.

Adrian Gonzalez is among many players who have raised the topic with ESPN the past couple of years, but the Dodgers first baseman is the first willing to speak on the record. "I feel like TUEs should be [a matter of] public record," Gonzalez said Wednesday, sitting at his locker. "Not because they shouldn't be allowed, but because we should all know the reasons why [players] are taking what they're taking -- and are allowed to take."
Gonzalez believes this should happen for the sake of transparency. "The whole system is in place to make it an even playing field," said Gonzalez. "I know I don't have a TUE. I would want to know who has one, for what reasons, and if those reasons are justified."

Q: You were drafted in the 16th round by the Dodgers in 1975, but you also had a ton of football scholarship offers, and played some pretty good basketball, too. Why did you choose baseball?
DS: [Laughs] It was the sport that I was least likely to get hurt playing. There are obvious injuries that happen in baseball, but in football, even at 6’2”, 210 pounds, that’s not big enough to play the sport, for me. In basketball, there were some size restrictions as well. What’s great about baseball is that anybody can get on the diamond and show their skills. At the time, among the three sports, baseball was not my favorite, and probably not my best sport. But it’s just funny how things turn out.
