Brewers Series Starts on Thursday - Autograph Guest, Pregame Info and Other Stuff!


The next homestand starts on Thursday against the Milwaukee Brewers.   Below are some odds and ends for this upcoming homestand; including a couple of veteran Dodgers' coming out to sign for fans on Sunday at Viva Los Dodgers.

The Milwaukee County Stadium Dog will be available for this homestand only against the Brewers at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas located on the field, loge and reserve levels. It features a quarter-pound, all-beef hot dog topped with fried cheese curds and county stadium secret sauce.

The sixth 2016 issue of the new Dodger Insider magazine, featuring Corey Seager on the cover, will be available at Dodger Stadium.  (see it on the left).  The Dodgers merged their previously separate Playbill and Dodger Insider magazines into one publication (at least 80 pages per issue) with a new edition available each homestand.  They are distributed at auto gates (one per vehicle) and via Fan Services for those who use alternate transportation.

Thursday, June 16th at 7:10 PM
RHP Junior Guerra vs. LHP Scott Kazmir

Thursday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM.  The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a #4 Duke Snider Retired Numbers Pin.  See it on the right.

Kurt Snider, Duke Snider’s son, will throw the ceremonial first pitch and members of the Snider family will officially begin the game with “It’s time for Dodger baseball!”

Molly McCook, a Los Angeles native, star of the musical “Cruel Intentions” and the new Netflix comedy “The Ranch,” will perform the national anthem.
  • The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Jeffrey Blumberg of Los Angeles. Blumberg graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in criminology. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army as a military police officer and was later stationed in South Korea. Blumberg deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 for one year as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and in 2015 became an Army recruiter in Los Angeles.

RHP Zach Davis vs. LHP Julio Urías

Friday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM.  It is Friday Night Fireworks, so fans will be able to go down onto the field after the game to watch the spectacle. It is Filipino Heritage Night at Dodger Stadium.  Folks who ordered a special ticket package will get an exclusive Filipino Heritage Night T-shirt with your ticket.  See that on the left.  If not already sold out go here for information.

apl.de.ap from the Black Eyed Peas, a GRAMMY award-winning artist of Filipino descent, will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Joan Almedilla, a Filipina actress, composer, singer and theater performer from the Broadway productions of “Miss Saigon,” “Les Miserables” and “Here Lies Love” will perform the national anthem.

As a part of Filipino Heritage Night the Dodgers are offering the Pinoy Dog.  It will be available for this game only at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas located on the field, loge and reserve levels. It features a quarter-pound, all-beef hot dog topped with diced spam and pineapple, Sabretts’ onions in sauce and chicharrones.

DJ Adam will provide musical entertainment tomorrow in the right-field plaza and a KIIS-FM DJ will provide entertainment in the left-field plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • The Dodgers will recognize two Military Heroes of the Game. Retired U.S. Army Captain Morton Field served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the youngest captain in the Counterintelligence Corps, where he conducted counterespionage activities to catch saboteurs, spies and infiltrators before they could carry out their missions against allied troops. During the Battle of the Bulge, his role included identifying Nazi SS commandos who infiltrated through American lines wearing U.S. uniforms. Morton, 93, also served as President Harry Truman’s bodyguard at the Potsdam Conference with Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin.
  • The second Military Heroes of the Game is U.S. Navy Petty Officer Second Class Shermann Keith Guiang, who is Filipino and born in Oxnard. He is a navy recruiter in Santa Ana for the U.S. Navy Recruiting District San Diego. Guiang participated in two western Pacific deployments.  Additional deployments include two eastern Pacific deployments and one Rim of the Pacific Exercise, which is the world's largest international maritime warfare exercise along with several local area operations. Guiang has earned several awards, including the Navy Achievement Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon National Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
  • The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) conducts silent auctions throughout the season featuring signed pieces of memorabilia from Dodger players, coaches and alumni. Auctions take place behind the Vin Scully press box on the club level. The items for auction Friday include a Joc Pederson autographed photo, Adrián González autographed baseball and Clayton Kershaw autographed jersey.

Saturday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM. 

Kearran Giovanni, star of TNT’s “Major Crimes,” will perform the national anthem. The Finnegan family of west Sacramento will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Stefanie Finnegan, wife of Rob, mother to five year-old Aubrey and 12 year-old Andrew, tragically lost her life in a car accident in April. Rob, Aubrey and Andrew will partake in the first pitch in memory of Stefanie.

DJ Adam will provide musical entertainment in the right-field plaza, a KIIS-FM DJ will provide music in the left-field plaza and Everett Coast band will provide music in the right-field reserve from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • The Military Hero of the Game is retired U.S. Coast Guard Captain Kyle Maki of Cypress. Maki’s 24-year military service spans several branches and assignments, including a transfer to the Coast Guard’s Cutter JARVIS as a student engineer and the Reserves at Marine Safety Office, Group Los Angeles-Long Beach as a marine casualty investigator. He was recalled to active duty immediately after September 11 to initiate operational Security Boarding Teams to ensure the safe passage of High Interest Vessels into and out of the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. He was senior reserve officer at USCG Sector San Francisco from 2010-2013, responsible for the training, administration and management of more than 160 reservists located in seven satellite units. Other service by Maki includes coordinating relief efforts post-Hurricane Katrina as well as relief and final cleanup efforts after the Deepwater Horizon spill.

Sunday's game starts at 1:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 10:40 AM, and stadium gates open at 11:10 AM.  The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive Father's Day Boxers.  See it on the left.

It is Viva Los Dodgers in the Dodgers parking lot prior to the game at the Historic 76 Station.  Festivities begin at 11:10 AM. Entertainment will be provided by Louie Cruz Beltran and Fayuca. Dodger alumni Billy Ashley and Dennis Powell will sign autographs for fans.

Dodger coaches and players will participate in the ceremonial first pitch with their children. Fans are also invited to play catch on the field postgame. The national anthem will be performed by Mexican-American jazz musician Louie Cruz Beltran who will also perform at Viva Los Dodgers.

The Dodgers are joining Major League Baseball in once again celebrating Father’s Day in a special effort to raise awareness and fund research for prostate cancer. Mike Milken, chairman and founder of the Prostate Cancer Foundation and a prostate cancer survivor, will throw an honorary first pitch. 

On Father’s Day, all MLB players, managers, coaches, trainers, umpires and groundskeepers will wear blue wristbands and blue ribbon uniform decals. Additionally, MLB Clubs will celebrate Father’s Day in specially designed uniforms for the first time.  Father’s Day uniforms and caps will incorporate light blue into Clubs’ regular logos against a grey or white background. As part of the Father’s Day Celebration, Levy Restaurants will offer the Father’s Day Picnic Dog at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas located on the field, loge and reserve levels. The Picnic Dog features a quarter-pound, all-beef hot dog topped with baked beans, potato salad, shredded cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce.
  • The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Navy E4 Brian Mares of La Mesa. Mares started his military career on the USS Jason Dunham and served a 10-month deployment to the Mediterranean, Black Sea and the Middle East. The ship on which he served played important roles in NATO foreign relations and played a vital role in anti-piracy patrols in the Indian Ocean. Mares is now stationed on the USS Milius DDG 69 in San Diego. A new father, he will reenlist at Dodger Stadium on Father’s Day.
