The next homestand starts Monday evening against the San Francisco Giants. Below are some odds and ends for this upcoming homestand.
The twelfth 2016 issue of the new Dodger Insider magazine, featuring Vin Scully on the cover, will be available at Dodger Stadium. (see it on the left). The 96-page September 19-25 issue of Dodger Insider magazine is devoted entirely to Vin Scully, in honor of the Hall of Famer’s final homestand with the Dodgers after 67 seasons. The Dodgers merged their previously separate Playbill and Dodger Insider magazines into one publication with a new edition available each homestand. They are distributed at auto gates (one per vehicle) and via Fan Services for those who use alternate transportation.

It is Clippers Night at Dodger Stadium. Folks who ordered a special ticket package will get an exclusive Clippers/Dodgers cap. See that on the right. If not already sold out go here for information.
A blue and red frozen margarita will be offered by Levy Restaurants. The Hoop Troop, new mascot Chuck and Clippers ticket sales representatives will be on hand in the right-field plaza from 5:10 p.m. to 7:10 p.m.
The national anthem will be performed by Mario Jose who recently toured with Pentatonix.
- The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army Specialist William Kelso II of Monrovia. Kelso enlisted in the Army as a combat medic in 2004. In 2007, he was reassigned as an infantry dismount medic and was deployed with Task Force 1-64 and the 3rd Infantry Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He fought in the 2008 battle of Sadr City, earning combat awards and medals that include the Combat Medic Badge and three Army Commendation Medals, two with Valor. After sustaining injuries overseas, he was retired from active service in 2010. In his free time, Kelso is a master scuba diver and private pilot. He works with disabled veterans as an independent filmmaker and is a member of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses.

- The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army National Guard Chief Warrant Officer 2 Matthew Bednar of Fullerton. Bednar has served seven years in the National Guard at Alpha Company 1/140th Phantoms, assisting with various state missions, including fighting wild fires in northern California. During his recent active-duty deployment, he operated as a UH-60 Black Hawk pilot in Iraq for Operation Inherent Resolve. During his deployment, Bednar received care packages from the nonprofit organization Soldiers’ Angels, which provides aid and comfort to deployed service members, wounded heroes, veterans and their families.

It is Law Enforcement Night at Dodger Stadium. Folks who ordered a special ticket package will get an exclusive Dodgers' Law Enforcement mug. See that on the right. If not already sold out go here for information.
The national anthem will be performed by the Air Force Band, and Sheriff Jim McDonnell, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and CHP Chief Bill Siegel will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Dan Lafferty, assistant deputy director of LA County Department of Public Works, will catch the Sheriff’s pitch and Dodger players will catch Beck’s and McDonnell’s pitches. In addition, the Los Angeles Lakers 2016 top draft pick, Brandon Ingram, will be on hand to also throw out a first pitch. A bratwurst with peppers and onions will be offered by Levy Restaurants at Dodger Stadium.
LAPD officers on duty at Dodger Stadium will carry LAPD baseball cards to pass out to fans during Law Enforcement Appreciation Night. Joc Pederson, Justin Turner or Adrián González cards will be available. These are the same cards they've been passing out to fans since 2015. BTW, the complete set also includes AJ Ellis, but won't be available due to being traded.
Officers from LAPD’s Motor Unit will ride along the warning track. Officers from the California Highway Patrol will serve as Wednesday’s color guard. LA County District Attorney Jackie Lacy will bestow the Dodgers’ Community Hero Award medals upon Sergeant Yvette Ahumada and Senior Investigator Jose Medrano of the District Attorney’s office. Ahumada and Medrano have worked tirelessly to rescue and safeguard juveniles who are being recruited and exploited in the commercial sex trade. They have been involved in more than 60 adult arrests and have been responsible for assisting in the apprehension of more than 17 pimps in the past year. They have contacted and provided assistance to more than 50 child victims. Sheriff McDonnell will bestow the Dodgers’ Community Hero Award upon LA Sheriff’s deputies Chad Vandenberg and Christopher Allende of the Lakewood Station, who were both shot during a DUI checkpoint in Bellflower in June.
- The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army First Sergeant Robert Manzano of Los Angeles. After serving 20 years on active duty, Manzano is now a California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer. In the Army, Manzano held various positions, including infantryman, military police investigator and recruiter. He served two tours in Germany, and deployed to Russia in 1994 and the Ukraine in 1995 as part of the Partnership for Peace. He was stationed in Germany when the Berlin Wall came down. His military awards and decorations include five Army Achievement Medals, six Army Commendation Medals and two National Defense Service Medals. Manzano is a recruiter for the CHP Southern Division (Los Angeles County) Recruitment Unit in Glendale.
