- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1977 Tommy John comes in a distant second place in Cy Young voting -- having been beaten by Steve Carlton of the Phillies. John went 20-7 for the Dodgers with an 2.78 ERA, FIP of 3.05, eleven complete games and three shutouts.

- Clayton Kershaw is on the preliminary roster fot the upcoming World Baseball Classic tournament next year, via Joel Sherman at the NY Post.
The rules were changed about adding players between rounds this year, in part so the US could put Clayton Kershaw on the team to pitch in the finals in Dodger Stadium, should the Americans make it. When the process began, the US was hopeful of getting Harper, Trout and Kershaw on the roster because of their star power; Kershaw has said yes, health permitting.

This season, Calhoun got a chance to settle in at Double-A, spending the entire regular season at Tulsa. MLB.com's No. 87 overall prospect ranked second in the system with 27 homers while tying Matt Beaty for the organization lead with 88 RBIs.
"This year was a lot of fun for me, being able to prove to the Dodgers that I'm able to do anything they throw at me," Calhoun said. "I like to compete and give it my all every day, so them moving me fast is really fun for me and rewarding and also shows that they trust me. I was just able to prove to them why they should."

“It’s been awesome,” Bellinger said after leading the Glendale Desert Dogs to an exciting 8-7 come-from-behind win over the Scottsdale Scorpions with his bottom of the ninth walk-off RBI single on Tuesday afternoon at Camelback Ranch. “Our team and our staff is fun. We’ve got good camaraderie here, we joke around, we talk smack to each other and it’s all fun and games, but playing out here against the best competition in the minor leagues is all you can ever ask for so you just come out every day and do your job.”
- Daniel Brim at Dodgers Digest put together a nice report on Japanese ace Shohei Otani. He has yet to be posted by his team, but he is definitely someone everyone in Baseball will take a close look at once he is.
- The Dodgers Double-A ballclub Tulsa Drillers released a "Thank You" video to their fans. Check it out below:
