The 14th Annual Professional Baseball Scouts Foundation banquet was held this past Saturday at the Beverly Hilton, and among the many award recipients was Rachel Robinson, wife of Jackie, and Dave Roberts.
Rachel Robinson received the "Pioneer Award" ahead of the upcoming 70th anniversary of the breaking of Baseball's color barrier. It was also announced that the Jackie Robinson Museum will open later this year in New York. Read more about this and more via Jon Weisman at Dodger Insider; "Pioneer Award for Rachel Robinson comes at appropriate — and pivotal — moment." Dave Roberts was honored with the "Tom Lasorda Managerial Achievement Award", and presenting the award was Tommy himself. Per Ken Gurnick at MLB.com:

"I just got a talking to that I better win a championship," Roberts revealed.
- Happy Birthday, Bob Ramazzotti & Rod Miller!
- Ha-Ha! Via Mike Florio at PFT; "Chargers admit mistake, ditch initial L.A. logo."
“The logo that was revealed on Thursday was meant to help launch our brand into the market and supplement — not replace — our official team marks,” Chargers president of business operations A.G. Spanos said in a statement provided to PFT. “Clearly, we miscalculated how the logo would be received, and we’ve taken it out of the rotation.”

Carl (Dover, DE): Could you pick a sleeper from the lower minors whom you believe could jump onto everyone's radar this season?
Ben Badler: Does Dustin May qualify as a sleeper? I could see him vaulting into the Dodgers’ Top 10 next year. And they gave him a lot of money, so I’m not sure if the sleeper label fits, but the player I’m looking forward to making his U.S. debut in 2017 is Oneil Cruz.
