We are days away from the official start of Spring Training. This coming Wednesday Dodger pitchers and catcher must report to Camelback Ranch.
BTW, I thought I would also put up a fantastic aerial pic of the Coliseum that was taken during the Dodgers very first home game there in 1958. A crowd of 78,682 attended.

- As you likely know by now, it has been reported widely over the weekend that the Dodgers have re-signed veteran infielder Chase Utley and signed free agent veteran outfielder Franklin Gutierrez to one-year contracts. I'll be sure to make some fantasy Baseball cards shortly. Both signings have yet to be confirmed by the Dodgers.

- Per Mike Ozanian at Forbes; "Why The Dodgers Are Rooting For Kushner To Buy The Marlins."
The Dodgers have to be rooting for the Kushners. If the Marlins deal goes down for $1.6 billion, the value of all MLB teams will go up--especially a big-market, popular brand like the Dodgers. You can bet the minority stake valuation will go up to around $3 billion from $2.5 billion.

“There are only so many starting rotation spots,” manager Dave Roberts said recently. “I hope we don’t have to exhaust all those starters as we did this past season. But knowing [president of baseball operations] Andrew [Friedman] and this front office for a year, obviously depth is very important to our front office. And it really played itself out last year.”
...
“As we look around here today, we have a lot of starting pitching depth, but as we finish spring training, guys like Alex Wood, Brandon McCarthy, Scott Kazmir, they’re going to have to pitch somewhere,” Roberts said. “So whether it is out of the rotation or potentially out of the pen, I don’t know that answer right now.”

- Kershaw loves hockey, too. Clayton appeared in a promotional video for the Dallas Stars hockey club. Watch it below.
