- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1953 the Dodgers collectively hit their 24th consecutive home run in-a-row. This homer was hit by Roy Campanella against Giants pitcher Sal "The Barber" Maglie. Unfortunately, that would be the only run Brooklyn scores. They lose 6-1.

- At the upcoming 25th ESPYS, on Wednesday, July 12th, Vin Scully will be presented with the Icon Award. Actor Bryan Cranston will be presenting the award To Vin -- it is given to individuals whose careers have left a lasting impression on the sports world.
- Per Bill Shaikin at the LA Times; "Dodgers, Padres could play series in Mexico City next year."
The games “are anticipated being played but have not been formalized,” Tony Clark, executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Assn., said before Sunday’s Futures Game in Miami.
- This might be the greatest thing I've ever heard. During the first weekend of November the Dodgers will he hostiong Disc Golf at Dodger Stadium. You'll get an exclusive limited edition Dodgers disc, a reserve MVP ticket to the September 9th game vs. the Rockies, and a round of Disc golf. Go here for information.

“It’s just a blessing,” he said. “I talked to my dad a little bit about it, God’s working. He’s working in my life right now, every aspect. I’m feeling good, playing well, healthy this year.“To my knowledge, it doesn’t happen very often, where you jump this many levels this quickly, but God’s working right now in my life, and I’m just happy with it.”

- Giovanni Balistreri at When Topps Had Balls shares a fantastic Don Drysdale fantasy Baseball card he made. It features him on a 1978 Topps "Turn Back the Clock" insert card.
- Via Tom Hoffarth at the Los Angeles Daily News; "Eric Tracy’s mulligan gives him a cancer-free shot at more." Eric is a former Dodgers’ pre- and postgame host during the ’80s and ’90s.
“If they said I had six months, I didn’t want to not do something and find out they were right,” he said. “When I was going to die, I needed to go out and tell people how much I loved them, and I found out it was just the opposite – the way I was part of their lives in ways I never imaged.“I actually felt guilty in some way, like the boy who cried wolf (after the January news). But that’s the irrational thinking. My faith carried me.”
