2017 Topps Now -- #437 -- Cody Bellinger's 30th Home Run

This is the 16th 2017 Topps Now card to feature Cody Bellinger this season, and that doesn't include the two different autographed cards that have also been issued. As amazing as this seems to be it's no more amazing than the fact that Bellinger has now belted 30 home runs -- becoming only the second Dodger rookie to have done so (Piazza is the other) and just the 28th rookie ever in Major League Baseball to have hit as many. Heck, in the National League alone only ten batters (including Cody) have hit 30. So, he is definitely in some rarefied air. Per Jaylon Thompson at MLB.com:
"It is impressive and he is a baseball player," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "Cody does a lot of things defensively and in the batter's box. To be the 10th player is pretty phenomenal."
According to Statcast™, the home run traveled a projected distance of 410 feet and had a launch angle of 30 degrees. It was classified as a barreled ball with a 103.3-mph exit velocity.
Since his contract was purchased from Triple-A Oklahoma City on April 25, Bellinger leads the Majors in home runs. Prior to Wednesday's homer, Bellinger's average launch angle on home runs was 27.5 degrees and his average exit velocity on homers sat at 104.5 mph.
Go here to check out the card and order. Per the description on the reverse:
Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Cody Bellinger got the Dodgers rolling by opening the second inning against the Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran with the 30th home run of his impressive rookie campaign. Bellinger is now the third fastest player in MLB history to record 30 homers.

  1. 16 cards, why not 30, he can be the first player to get a card for each at bat
