2017 Topps Now -- #766, #767 & #768 -- Game 2 Victory

What a huge game. Not only did the Dodgers offense come through when they needed to, but their relief staff has been unhittable. To help celebrate this fact Topps has issued a Game 2 NLCS Topps Now card to remind us that these role players out of the 'pen deserve some credit to. Check it out above. Go here to check it out and order. It prominently featured Brandon Morrow, Tony Watson, Josh Fields and Kenley Jansen. They collectively recorded twelve straight Cub outs last night. Per Ken Gurnick at MLB.com:
"They're just executing pitches and they're ready when called upon and they're competing," said Roberts. "It's a close-knit group down there. Josh Bard, our bullpen coach, has done a fantastic job with those guys, along with [pitching coach] Rick Honeycutt. And just the preparation. Those guys know exactly what they want to do, and they're going out there and executing."

The next two Dodger cards focus on the man of the hour -- Justin Turner. Best yet, there are six limited game-used base relic cards available, as well. You can see the relics at the very bottom. As is usually the case, these relics are all sold out already.

The first Turner card celebrates Turner's walk-off. Go here to check it out and order. Instead of words Topps elects to simply use a photo of Justin heading towards his electrified teammates at home plate.

The second Turner card tells us that his walk-off homer was the 50th such dinger in postseason MLB history. Go here to check it out and order.

I love that the reverse only provides a timeline of other notable postseason walk-offs; including Gibby's world series home run in 1988. Per AJ Cassavell at MLB.com:
Gibson's blast in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series is the only other walk-off home run in the franchise's postseason history. On that fateful October night, Turner was a 3-year-old watching from his grandmother's couch as Gibson took the A's Dennis Eckersley deep and promptly rounded the bases while iconically pumping his fist.
"One of my earliest baseball memories," recalled Turner, who grew up a Dodgers fan in Lakewood, Calif.

Below is a look at the six different certified game-used base cards featuring Justin Turner paired with the corresponding card numbers and sale prices. As I said, it is too late to order these cards. As has been the case all season long, these relic cards put out by Topps Now sell-out with hours of their release.

  1. Those relics and autographs are a gold mine. I looked at a typical auto and they sold $64,000 of them in a day.

Sure hope they fix "Carloton" Fisk before they print that card!
