Cody is in deep contemplation as he prepares for batting practice yesterday afternoon at Dodger Stadium. This was the last workout before heading out to Arizona for tonight's match-up between Zack Greinke and Yu Darvish.

- Via Hailey Branson-Potts at The LA Times; "Dodger fan Richard Lomeli has more pins than a bowling alley."
"Postseason is what you live for," he said.Lomeli wore carried a backpack covered in pins he designed: A Jobu, of course. A freeway sign that said Kershaw 710 because 7:10 pm is when the Dodgers ace usually takes the mound. A michelada. A nacho helmet.
- Then Haley at the Times tells us all about Robert Sanchez; "He's been selling peanuts and churros at Dodger Stadium for 43 years, but it's still 'fun, fun, fun.'"
So, the 16-year-old from Lincoln Heights walked to Dodger Stadium and picked up a gig hawking peanuts. That was 43 years ago. He hasn’t left.“It’s PEANUT TIME, everybody!” the mustachioed vendor’s voice boomed through the stadium’s crowded left-field loge section Friday night, during the Dodgers’ first postseason game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. “Peanut time! Peanut time!”
- Via Joe Crasnick at ESPN; "Dodgers have learned, 'You don't ever want to disappoint Chase'"
During Utley's peak in Philadelphia, reliever Chad Durbin observed that Phillies players made sure to run out balls and tend to the fundamentals because they didn't want to "disappoint Chase." Almost a decade later, Utley's influence permeates the Dodgers' clubhouse in a similar manner."He's kind of the quiet leader of the team," Clayton Kershaw said. "I think everybody looks up to him and wants to play the right way to please him. There's a level of accountability he creates within the team, just by doing what he does, that's huge. He's one of the best teammates I've ever been around.
