Here is another fantastic vintage press photo of an old-tyme Dodger that can be found at RMY Auctions (link here). Featured are (from L-R) Cuban outfield star Pedro Formental, Dick Sisler and Dodgers Game 7 hero of the 1955 World Series Sandy Amorós. They are all decked out in the full uniform of the Habana Club of the Cuban Winter Leagues, circa 1953.

- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1954 the Dodgers signed amateur free agent Sandy Koufax to a contract - a $6,000 salary and $14,000 bonus. This made Sandy a "bonus baby" (having a bonus over $4,000) and required the Dodgers to keep him on the Major League roster for two years. And when (Ken) Bracey hung up the uniform, he picked up the clipboard, radar gun and stopwatch and began a scouting career that was highlighted by 38 years with the Padres before being hired by then-Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti and spending his final seven years with Los Angeles.

(Yusei) Kikuchi, a left-hander with the Seibu Lions, watches the Dodgers on television every five days — whenever Clayton Kershaw starts.“He’s the pitcher I like the most,” Kikuchi said in Japanese.

A graduate of the same backcountry high school that produced Ohtani, Kikuchi stands a modest 6 feet, but his fastball has touched 98 mph. He has a slider that multiple major league scouts compared to Kershaw’s.
When that particular detail of their reports was relayed to Kikuchi in September, the boy in him emerged.
