The Yasiel Puig #SantaPuig truck made a surprise visit to the Evergreen Recreation Center in East LA yesterday afternoon to hand out toys and gifts to local families. As yo can see, smiles were seen all-around.

- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1976 the Dodgers traded Ted Sizemore to the Phillies for catcher Johnny Oats and a minor leaguer. In 1989 the Dodgers traded Mike Marshall and Alejandro Peña to the Mets for infielder Juan Samuel. In 2005 the Dodgers signed free agent outfielder Kenny Lofton.

- Per an AP Report; "Dodgers, Yanks must pay up before expected 2018 payroll slashing."
The Los Angeles Dodgers will pay baseball's highest luxury tax for the fourth straight year and the New York Yankees owe a penalty for a 15th consecutive season, streaks that could end as the sport's biggest spenders slash payroll for 2018.The Dodgers owe $36.2 million, according to final figures compiled by the commissioner's office and obtained by The Associated Press. That raises their five-year tax total to nearly $150 million.
- Brandon McCarthy recently wrote this on twitter:
The Dodgers were a truly wonderful organization from top to bottom and it will forever be one of the great honors of my life to have worn that jersey.— Brandon McCarthy (@BMcCarthy32) December 20, 2017
- Congrats! Via Yoon Mik-Suk at the Korea Herald; "Government awards promotion of Korean culture to outside world."
Korean government on Tuesday awarded nine individuals for their contribution on promoting Korean culture to other countries....
Among other awardees were Martin Kim, the former translator for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was widely known among Koreans as the Dodgers’ pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin since 2013. Kim has also been a patron of Korean popular culture in the US.
- Per Hunter Thompson at Dodgers Blue Pen; "Dodgers’ Prospect DJ Peters On Growing Up A Dodger Fan And More."
When I was 6-years old, my grandfather took me to my first Dodger game. Watched Shawn Green play, and watched Eric Gagne and all those guys play. Absolutely fell in love with the game of baseball. My dad signed me up for little league when I was 7-years old for the following season. I kinda just fell in love with the game right then and there and knew this is what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. God blessed me with that ability so I’m just trying to kind of run away with it.
- Scary! Fortunately, it appears everyone is okay. Per Brock Stewart's twitter last night:
I was driving my girlfriend’s car tonight when this city landscape truck with no breaks smoked us as we tried to turn left. We walked away with not even a scratch. God was with us. Very thankful. pic.twitter.com/BR7eWhxwTs— Brock Stewart (@Brock_A_Stewart) December 20, 2017
