Jackie Robinson Statue at Dodger Stadium has Been Unveiled
This year is a special one for the Dodgers and its fans. For the first time in its history a statue will be erected at the stadium, and it will honor the great Jackie Robinson.
Sculpted by noted New York born artist Branley Cadet, the statue is made of bronze, sits on a granite base and stands approximately 9 feet tall. Furthermore, several notable Robinson quotes can be seen surrounding the statue along its base.
Fans in attendance for its unveiling on Jackie Robinson Day (April 15th) will not only have an opportunity to be the first fans to see it (on the reserve level), but will also receive a collectible Jackie Robinson replica statue figurine (the first 40,000 fans) when they enter the game.
For the first time we have an opportunity to check out the figurine, via the Dodgers twitter. You can see it in the photos above and below.
MLB The Show 17 Intro Features the Voice of Vin Scully
I had my first opportunity to play MLB 17 over the weekend, and wanted to briefly share the games introductory video montage with you. It is absolutely fantastic and a perfect segue for the opening of the 2017 Baseball season. In fact, Dodger fans should especially love it. A prominent voice throughout is our beloved Vin Scully -- featuring ITFDB and two timeless calls. Watch it below.

- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1974 the Dodgers get Pedro Guerrero from the Indians in exchange for pitcher Bruce Ellingsen. In 2008 the Dodgers announce, twenty minutes before their game, that reliever Hong-Chih Kuo would be used as the starter in place of Chad Billingsley, who in turn will be used out the bullpen. The unusual move was made due to an threat of rain at the start of the game. In 2009 the Dodgers purchased Justin Sellers from the Cubs.
- Happy Birthday, Wally Moon & Tim Crews!
