“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1957 the Dodgers extend their lease at Ebbets Field for another three years -- as a fallback in case Los Angeles is unable to secure land for a new stadium. They would leave Brooklyn a year later. In 2002 the Dodgers traded outfielder Gary Sheffield to the Braves for Brian Jordan, Odalis Perez and Andrew Brown. In 2009 the Dodgers nightmare is over. They released outfielder Andruw Jones.

- Via Josh Cooper at NHL.com; "Meet Dieter Ruehle: LA Kings Organist: The LA Kings and Los Angeles Dodgers Organist shares some of his career highlights."
"Going to the World Series was such a cool experience. The pageantry and entertainment perspective reminded me very much of the Stanley Cup Finals of 2012 and 2014," Ruehle said. "There was obviously one difference. I had never seen the visiting team win a championship right there in front of me. That was so surreal. But, other than the Game 7 result, it was so much fun to be a part of the World Series."
- Per Cary Osborne at Dodger Insider; "Prior has seen all in a unique baseball life."
“I’ve been in a lot of different situations and scenarios in my career — from some very high highs to some very low moments. I’ve been pretty much been everywhere in between and in and out of baseball, so I do think I have a large spectrum I can pull on to relate to players,” Prior said. “That’s one thing I think I can bring to the table. I feel my perspective in the game is unusual. I was up early in my career, was in the big leagues at 21 years old. But I was also in the Minor Leagues at 33, 34, on the way out. You view things differently the older you get, so I think it’s helped me in my perspective of the game ultimately to it’s the approach.
- Per Ruth Ruiz at TC Palm; "Kirk Gibson 'overwhelmed' by Dodgertown visit."
“Kirk Gibson holds a special place in Dodger history and all of us at Historic Dodgertown enjoyed welcoming him this weekend,” said (Peter) O’Malley. “Kirk has extraordinary memories of Vero Beach and spring training. Kirk’s professionalism and commitment to winning has made a lasting impact on the Dodger organization.”“I have been thinking a lot lately about 1988, being the 30th anniversary of our World Championship,” said Gibson. “Because I was in Florida, I took the invitation of Peter O’Malley to stop by and relive being part of the organization’s great accomplishments that year.
"I was really overwhelmed with the positive atmosphere this special place brings to me.”
