"That's what we do. We hit homers."
Kiké Hernández is definitely right about that.
They hit seven solo home runs; including two each by Hernandez and Bellinger. Pederson, Muncy and Turner also hit homers.
Yesterday afternoon's longball explosion was a sight to behold, but it was also not too surprising. After all, they've punished the league during the month of June, to the tune of 46 homers, and they currently lead the National League in homers at 102. So, hitting dingers is a skill they excel at.
The Dodgers defeated the Mets on the road thanks to seven solo home runs, tying the single-game record by a team in the Modern Era, since 1990. The Dodgers and Mets also combined for nine home runs today, the most combined home runs in any game this season. Justin Turner capped the historic game off with his 11th inning blast in the 8-7 won. The seven home runs also marked the first time any opponent hit that many home runs against the Mets at home.UPDATE: This has a final print run of 312.
