Blog Kiosk: 6/6/2018 - Dodgers Links - "We're Back in the Mix"

See... There was nothing to worry about. After what felt like a lifetime, the Dodgers have finally reach the brim of the giant hole that they dug for themselves at the start of this season. They are now officially at .500 with a record of 30-30 and 102 games left to play. Best yet, they are just two games back of the lead. Per Bob Cohn at MLB.com:
"We're back in the mix, and now the goal is to keep playing good baseball," Roberts said after his team won for the 14th time in 18 games, a 5-0 victory over the Pirates at PNC Park paced by three home runs and another splendid outing by starter Ross Stripling.

  • I'm not exactly sure this is all about, but it seems certain it has nothing to do with the teams' operations. Frankly, it sounds like a bunch of gossip that could potentially morph into corporate financial malfeasance. Via Jon Shazar at Dealbreaker; "Guggenheim CEO Not Enjoying The Dodgers’ First Pennant In 30 Years."
The SEC’s probe into Guggenheim Partners’ relationship with Bob Diamond grew into a look at Walter’s home-buying practices, including an $85 million pad in Malibu he personally co-owns and a house in Pacific Palisades that his lady friend—who is not his special lady, according to Guggenheim—has been living in. And to top it all off, said lady friend, on-leave Guggenheim global head of internal distribution Alexandra Court, has left to do her own thing.
