The Dodgers love Pirate pitching. During a road-trip a month back they collected 28 hits and scored 22 runs during the three-game series in Pittsburgh. Now back home in Los Angeles they continue to rock the Bucs. Over the past two games the Dodgers have punished the Pirates by recording 32 hits and scoring 25 runs. Even more remarkably, the Dodgers accomplished something that they hadn't done since 1929. For the first time in 89 years the Dodgers collected nine extra-base-hits on consecutive games.
In honor of this feat Topps has issued a new 2018 Topps Now card for fans and collectors to chase after. As you can see, it features both Joc Pederson and Max Muncy on the front. They had hit back-to-back homers on consecutive days. Go here to check it out and order. Below is what's written on the reverse:
The Los Angeles Dodgers accomplished something they haven't done since 1929, collecting nine extra base hits in consecutive games. Joc Pederson and Max Muncy led the way, slugging two of the Dodgers six home runs back-to-back in the first inning. This marks the first time the Dodgers had nine total extra base hit in two straight 1929 (May 17-18).
