There's no quit in this club. Per Anne Rogers at MLB.com:
"We're the type of team that isn't going to quit until the last out," said shortstop Manny Machado, who recorded his 1,000th career hit in the sixth inning. "We got ahead, they came back, we went ahead and we didn't stop fighting."Last night the Dodgers knocked five homers to come-from-behind to defeat the Rockies, 8-5.

- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1966 former Dodger manager Chuck Dressen died at the age of 67. In 1979 Don Sutton recorded his 50th shutout as a Dodger -- setting a new franchise record -- when he defeated the Giants at Candlestick Park, 9-0. In 1995 the first forfeit in 16 years happened during a game between the Dodgers and Cardinals at Dodger Stadium. Following the ejection of Raul Mondesi and Tommy Lasorda in the ninth inning, fans starting throwing souvenir Baseballs onto the field. The balls were given to them as a game giveaway as they entered the stadium. Watch an ESPN news story about it here.
- Happy Birthday, Rocky Colavito & Al Osuna!
- Memorabilia Watch: I have no recollection of this giveaway night in 2003, but I sure do wish they'd bring it back. Check out this Adrian Beltre game-used jersey from a game at Dodger Stadium dubbed “Shirt-Off-Their-Backs” night, dated August 10, 2003, from Goldin Auctions (link here).
- Late August will bring the return of Players' Weekend and yesterday we got a look at the various nicknames we'll see. Go here to check that out. Clearly, the best one this season is Rich Hill. His nickname will be D. Mountain, and I'm going to assume that "D" is meant to be "Dick". Get it? Rich=Dick ... Hill=Mountain. LOL!
- Take care of yourself, Kenley! We are all pulling for you. Per Anne Rogers at MLB.com; "Kenley Jansen to be sidelined about a month: Dodgers closer was hospitalized with irregular heartbeat on Thursday."
"Any time you're talking about the heart, we obviously have to be very careful with it," manager Dave Roberts said. "And then we're talking about altitude, so that's why we wanted to be proactive and get him back [to Los Angeles]. We're holding out hope that it's not too serious, but talking to the trainer right now, his mood is fine, you wouldn't know the difference, and once we get more testing, we'll know more."Jansen has experienced heart problems in the past, going to the hospital for an irregular heartbeat in both 2011 and '12. Jansen also had problems at Coors Field in 2012, when he felt an irregular heartbeat during a game, while also feeling out of breath on every pitch he made.
- Congrats, Manny! Per Anne Rogers at MLB.com; "Machado notches 1,000th career hit."
- Per Forest Stulting at Beyond the Bricks; "A Season to Remember: Rob Segedin capitalized on newfound opportunity with Dodgers in 2016."
During infield practice before a game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, Haselman called the team for a meeting in front of home plate. Haselman then announced that Segedin was going to the Major Leagues.“It was a cool way to break it to me,” Segedin, now 29, said with a smile of jubilation. “I wasn’t expecting it.”
- Not only is tonight's Rancho Cucamonga Quakes game a Walker Buehler bobblehead night, but it will also feature Julio Urias on the mound. He is scheduled to pitch two innings tonight. Via Quakes on twitter:
