2018 Topps Now - #119 - Walker Buehler's Debut
How did I miss this?
For whatever reason the existence of this newest Dodgers' Topps Now card escaped me. So, it's way too late to purchase it directly from Topps. On the other hand, with 1,323 copies ordered I suspect that anybody who wanted one got one.

Blog Bat Around: My All Autograph Team
I used to lament the disappearance of these kind of group-blog posts that were once a mainstay within the card collecting/blogging community. Now that there's been a recent resurgence in the "Blog Bat Around's," I find myself being too lazy to participate.
Well, no more to that.
I'm going to get off my fat bum and put something together.
So, with out further delay here is my "All Autograph Team." This Blog Bat Around is brought to us by "Torren' Up Cards, " and as you can guess we are to put together the best possible team using only autographs from our own collection. Furthermore, I will take it a step further and include only Dodger players on my team.
Blog Kiosk: 4/25/2018 - Dodgers Links - Some Odds and Ends
Just a nice friendly hello.
Considering last night umpire debacle that has much of Dodger Nation "up-'n-arms" I thought the above vintage 1937 Associated Press photo found on eBay would be fun to share. Per the descriptor on the reverse:
"BURLY "GREETS" DOLLY. New York, May 5--"Dolly Stark, National League umpire who stayed away from the game last year because of salary differences, was greeted back on the job today by burly Burleigh Grimes, Brooklyn Dodger Manager. The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Dodgers, 5 to 1."Below are more links to check out:
- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1976 Cubs outfielder Rick Monday, in an act that will be remembered and celebrated throughout the country, snatched and rescued an American flag from two protesters who were in the midst of setting it on fire. You can watch it here.
"He got down on his knees and I could tell he wasn't throwing holy water on it," Monday said of one of the perpetrators. "If he's going to burn a flag, he better do it in front of somebody who doesn't appreciate it. I've visited enough veterans' hospitals and seen enough with their legs blown off defending that flag."
- Happy Birthday, Darren Holmes, Brad Clontz & JP Howell!
