Opening Day, Baby!
Above is a look at the two new patches the Dodgers will be wearing this season. First, you can see the MLB 150 patch that celebrates 150 years of professional Baseball and will be worn by every team in the league. Above that is the Don Newcombe memorial patch, via a tweet from Arash Markazi.

- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1970 Dodger Stadium was host to the "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial All-Star Baseball Classic". All-Star teams were assembled that included Joe DiMaggio as manager of the East and Roy Campanella as manager of the West team. Ron Fairly of Montreal and Ron Santo of the Chicago Cubs hit home runs as the East claimed victory, 5-1. In 1991 the Dodgers released legend and longtime Dodger hurler Fernando Valenzuela. Per an AP article in the Lodi News-Sentinel:
- Podcast: Reiter Than You 03-25-19 Dave Roberts -- The Dodger Manager joins Bill to discuss his expectations for Corey Seagar this season, what upside they have among their young players, how the team deals with high expectations, how the team will deal will injuries to Clayton Kershaw and Rich Hill, how optimistic he is about the bullpen, and how the team has built up such a level of consistency. "I will never forget Fernando and all he has done for me and the Los Angeles Dodgers," manager Tom Lasorda said. "It was a privilege and honor to manage him over the years because he was without a doubt a great talent and a great competitor. I want to thank him for all the memories."
Erwin Goldbloom, whose wife, Linda, suffered a fatal brain injury Aug. 25, 2018, when she was struck in the head by a foul ball at Dodger Stadium, told ESPN's Outside the Lines on Wednesday that the team contacted the family's attorney last week about a possible moment of silence at a 2019 game. But Goldbloom said he doesn't want any ceremony unless the Los Angeles Dodgers commit to increased protection at the ballpark."We don't need their sympathy. We want action," Goldbloom said. "If they agree to make changes to improve safety for fans, then I'll go down there."

The message didn’t come as a surprise to Boddy, who had first met Buehler three years earlier. At the time, Buehler was a Vanderbilt student about to be selected 24th overall in the 2015 draft and Boddy was still relatively unknown despite his extensive research on pitching. While their first meeting was confrontational — a “massive argument” about Boddy’s book, Hacking the Kinetic Chain — they developed mutual respect in the intervening years. The theme of their conversations was always the same: pitching. This time was no exception. Boddy called when he saw Buehler’s message and found the Los Angeles Dodgers rookie clearly frustrated he wasn’t generating as many strikeouts as Boddy’s most famous pupil, Trevor Bauer. “I throw harder than Bauer, I have nastier shit than Bauer, I throw more strikes than Bauer,” Boddy remembers Buehler saying. “Yet I turn on the TV and he’s punching out 14 guys and I punch out eight. Why?”
- Via Thomas Lott at The Sporting News; "Dodgers, David Freese don't give a 's—' about last season."
“What’s the point in even dwelling on this stuff? And I’m even talking to myself, because I dwell on stuff all the time,” infielder David Freese told The Athletic. “We’re just as good if not better than last year, and that doesn’t even necessarily matter. It’s a different season. Who gives a s—?”
