Here's a fantastic slide by 'Pistol' Pete Reiser against the Cardinals, 9/13/1946. Per the descriptor on the reverse:
Action that had the Dodger fans gripping frantically at the edges of their seats is caught by the camera as the Dodgers' Reiser slides into the home plate to score one of the Dodgers' four runs in the first inning of the game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Ebbets Field today. Reiser scored from second on Stevens single. Slaughter heaved to Del Rice at the plate but Reiser beat the throw. The above photo, taken by Herb Scharfman, is currently available on eBay, here. - This Day in Dodgers History: In 1959 Don Drysdale hits his second Opening Day home run to become the first pitcher with two career homers on Opening Day. Unfortunately, Don's homer would be the only run the Dodgers score this day as they lose to the Cubs, 6-1. In 2000 the Dodgers and Giants play the inaugural game at San Francisco's Pac Bell Park. Dodger shortstop Kevin Elster celebrates the occasion by hitting three home runs to help defeat the Giants, 12-8. In 2013 Zack Greinke breaks his left collarbone as a result of a melee on the field. Greinke had plunked Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin, so he charged the mound. Zack would miss several weeks due to the injury.
- Happy Birthday, Pop Corkhill, Al Nixon, Roy Gordinier & Kenta Maeda!
- ICYMI: Russell Martin was placed on the ten-day IL with low back inflammation yesterday. Rocky Gale from Triple-A Oklahoma City has been called up in his stead. From a Dodgers press release:
Gale, 31, enters his second season with the Dodger organization after beginning his professional career with the San Diego Padres organization. He has appeared in 17 Major League games, recording a homer and two RBI in 22 plate appearances. This year with Oklahoma City, the backstop was batting .333 (2-for-6) with three runs scored and a double.
- BTW, as suspected, Clayton Kershaw will make his season debut on Monday against the Reds and Yasiel Puig.

I saw a few people commenting on it, so I looked into the #Dodgers record after leaving Coors Field over the last 6+ years (all NL West titles + 2019). The results back up the theory:— Rick Krajewski (@Rick_K21) April 11, 2019

- Per Alex Pavlovic at NBC Sports; "Chris Taylor recalls how he broke through for Farhan Zaidi's Dodgers."
"It is a very short leash in this game, but it's crazy how quickly the perspective on you can change," Taylor said recently. "Guys can go from being an everyday player to all of a sudden they're a platoon guy, or a four-A player can be an everyday player. It can go in either direction real quick."
- Per Ryan Fagan at the Sporting News; "SN Conversation: Dodgers' Walker Buehler discusses intensity, disaster playoff innings, and clovers."
SN: What’s one of your first baseball memories?BUEHLER: First baseball memory? Holy s—. I don’t know. The first team I ever played for was a coach-pitch, or machine-pitch team and our coach was a really well-known pediatrician around town, so that was kind of a cool introduction to baseball.

It's the brand-new Dodgers Blonde Ale, and it made its debut with the 2019 season, at a few prominent destinations around town.No need to guess which ones: It's on tap at Golden Road Brewing locations, and available at Dodger Stadium, too, both inside the park and outside.
