Once again I've missed another Dodgers' 2019 Topps Now card that was released over a weekend. This time it's of Dodger third baseman Justin Turner and it celebrates his stellar day at the plate on Sunday against San Diego. Unfortunately, it's too late to order. Per Jake Crouse at MLB.com:
With a single down the right-field line in the ninth inning Sunday, Justin Turner recorded a five-hit game for the first time in his 11-year career.
Including a walk in the seventh, he also recorded a new career high by reaching base six times, which is a bigger deal given his approach at the plate.
“You’re just trying to get on base every time,” Turner said. “Especially with our lineup and the guys hitting behind me, you get on first, you’re in scoring position for all of those guys.”Below is what's written on the reverse:
Justin Turner bounced back into action after taking a day to rest after experiencing discomfort in his left side. He went 5-for-5, hitting five singles and scoring three runs, leading the Dodgers impressive 11-7 win over the Pirates.
