2019 Topps Now - #405, #414, #415 & #420 - Dodgers Historic Weekend

The Dodgers had an unbelievable weekend. Not only did they sweep the Rockies -- winning their sixth in a row -- but they did it with fantastic style. The club won all three weekend games with walk-off homers. Best yet, all three were hit by rookies.

To celebrate these achievements Topps issued several 2019 Topps Now cards (with another one likely to be made available later this afternoon) that I'm a bit tardy in writing about in this blog -- for that I apologize. First, let's take a look at a card made available on Friday. It's not actually a Dodger card since it highlights the efforts of a Met player, but it does include a pic of the leading NL MVP candidate Cody Bellinger. Check it out above and to the right. It has already sold out and has a print run of 660 copies. Below is what's it says on the reverse:
Pete Alonso ties Cody Bellinger's NL rookie record for the most home runs before the MLB All-Star break when he slugged his 25th home run of the season. Alonso's torrid start to the 23019 season puts him merely one home run away from tying Darryl Starwberry's New Yoirk Mets rookie record.
On Saturday two Dodger cards were made available -- one highlighting Walker Buehler's outstanding performance on the mound on Friday night and Matt Beaty's exciting walk-off home run.

Above and the the right is the Buehler card, #414. Below is what's written on the back. It has a print run of 393 cards.
Walker Buehler absolutely carved through the Colorado Rockies starting lineup, racking up 16 strikeouts and allowing just two runs over none innings. Buehler became the first player in Los Angeles Dodgers history to total 16 strikeouts and walk zero batters. Buehler was awarded a win for him impressive effort after the team hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Now here's a look at the Matt Beaty walk-off home run 2019 Topps Now card, #415. It sold 442 copies. Also, the reverse of the card includes a fun baby powder dunking by Cody Bellinger.

The card celebrating Saturday nights walk-off magic by Alex Verdugo is below, #420. Unfortunately, it is too late to order. Also, Topps did not unveil what the back of the card would look like. BTW, we should be seeing a Will Smith walk-off card being made available later this afternoon, so stay tuned for that.
