Here's another fantastic spring training Dodgers' AP press photo that I an across on ebay (link here). It features Long Beach product Rocky Bridges (left) along with Dodgers cap Pee Wee Reese. It is dated February 28, 1952.
Below are more links to check out:
- This Day in Baseball History: In 1979 the Dodgers signed free agent starting pitcher David Goltz to a six-year $3MM contract. The former eight-year Twins veteran went 9-19 with a 4.25 ERA in three season with the team before being release in 1982. In 2016 Corey Seager is named the unanimous winner of the National League Rookie of the Year award.
- Happy Birthday, Harry Howell, Red Sheridan, Jim Brewer & Tim Hamulak!
- If you've gotten obsessed with the recent Astros sign-stealing scandal then you should check out this Reddit thread, if you haven't already. It includes numerous videos unearthed by some amateur sleuths. Go here to check out their megathread.
- Best yet, check out Jomboy Media's video about the alleged Astros cheating. Watch it here.
- Here's some buzz before the official announcement, via a tweet from Bob Nightengale:

But far away from the roaring crowds, Smith wants to use his baseball fame to help others here in his hometown. He didn't just donate a jersey for charity. He also signed it in person at the Louisville Marriott East during a fundraiser for Barren Heights Retreat....
"It just gives me that stage to get here and kind of help raise more money for this cause," he said.

If you can't make it, prints are usually available online the next day.
