2019 Panini Diamond Kings - All the Dodgers Base Cards

Panini's Diamond King brand is now in stores, and I've got pics of all the Dodger base cards below. Go here for a complete checklist.

I want to note that the biographies on the reverse of the cards are fantastic. Many of them include fascinating tidbits I've never heard before. For instance, here is what Kershaw's write-up says:
Actress Mila Kunis threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Los Angeles game in June 2018, firing a big breaking ball to Kershaw behind the dish. The twirler had run into Kunis at a local "Mommy & Me" class he attended with his wife (Ellen), and had no problem sharing tips with the awestruck Hollywood star.
And Cark Erskine:
Though he later starred in the big leagues, Erskine was actually rejected from the local Navy team during World War II. In a game in Brooklyn, however, the officer who had turned him down found him and said, "Shake hands with the dumbest so and so in the world. With guys like me, I'm surprised that we won the war."

2019 Onyx Vintage Collection - Dodgers Prospect Diego Cartaya

Onyz's newest prospect-only card brand just hit store shelves. It is called 'Vintage Collection Baseball' and it includes 17-year old Dodgers catching prospect Diego Cartaya among the 22-card set. Go here for a complete checklist.

There's a base card and an autographed version available for Diego. Unfortunately, his autograph is through a redemption. (BTW, you cannot redeem the card online. You have to fill out and send the card to Onyx)

Blog Kiosk: 4/12/2019 - Dodgers Links - Some Odds and Ends

Check out this 'Throwback Thursday' little league photo tweeted by Kenley Jansen yesterday. It features himself (I think he's the lad holding the trophy) and fellow CuraƧao native Andrelton Simmons of the Angels.

Below are more links to check out:
  • This Day in Dodgers HistoryIn 1962 Dodgers left-handed rookie Pete Richert made his major league debut by striking out the first six batters he faced -- tying records for strike outs in an inning (4 K's in the 3rd inning), successive strike outs by a pitcher in his major league debut, and consecutive strikeouts by a relief pitcher. BTW, he also won the game when the Dodgers mounted a comeback by scoring seven runs in the fifth inning.
"I had good stuff and somebody up there likes me," Richert said of his first big league game. "What I mean is that I always say a little prayer when I’m nervous and excited. And I was tonight as I started walking to the mound."
