This season saw the birth of a brand new Topps Now online exclusive set that barrows its design and concept from the 1987 Topps Baseball card set -- the Turn Back the Clock subset. As you may know, this subset takes a look back at anniversaries and milestones in Baseball. Go here for a complete checklist.
The card featured here is of Dodger great Sandy Koufax. Go here to check it out and order. It is the 15th card of the set and the first Dodger card available to purchase. It celebrates Koufax's first and only Opening Day start. The reverse of the card says:
April 14, 1964 -- As the 1963 NL Cy Young and MVP Awards winner, Sandy was a no-brainer to take the mound for the Dodgers opener in the 1964 season. What may be surprising to fans to learn is that this was the first time Sandy was called upon for Opening Day. The southpaw made the most of his opportunity - blanking the Cardinals, 4-0, in the complete-game victory.
