last night the Dodgers played a little three-inning intrasquad game at Dodger Stadium and it was glorious. I miss these guys. You can watch the game here.

• This Day in Dodgers History: In 1996 Dodger catcher Mike Piazza is crowned the All-Star Game MVP. He lead the National League to a 6-0 victory by slugging a solo home run in the 2nd inning and a two-out RBI double in the 3rd inning. You can watch Piazza All-Star highlights and an postgame interview here. In 2011 Juan Uribe broke up a potential no-no with two outs in the ninth inning against the Padres by walloping a double. Then the Dodgers proceeded to win the game, 1-0 (boxscore), on a walk-off single by Dioner Navarro.

• Per Alden Gonzalez at ESPN -- "Max Muncy cites Dodgers' new center-field backdrop for HBP injury: 'I couldn't really see the ball'"

"I couldn't really see the ball," Muncy said. "I'm trying to adjust to some of the changes out there. It came up and in on me and hit me in the finger."

The reason: A center-field batter's eye, the visual backdrop for batters, that has evolved over the course of a $100 million renovation and has seemingly made it more difficult for Los Angeles Dodgers hitters to pick up the baseball.

• Per Matt Borelli at Dodger Blue -- "Stan Kasten Believes Players Will Be Responsible With Health & Safety Protocols.'

“I have a high level of confidence about our players who have, I think, been made to appreciate the seriousness of all this. But, as I said, this is a problem that extends far beyond just the players and we’re aware of that and I think we’re prepared to deal with that in the most responsible, safe and appropriate way.”

• Three more Dodgers join the IL. I think it's likely they tested positive for COVID-19. Per a tweet from Brook Smith:

The Dodgers placed Edwin Uceta, Cody Thomas, and Zach Reks on the 10-day IL yesterday.

• Topps has unveiled a new card brand called Allen & Ginter Chrome -- using a familiar design and making it shine. On the right is a Cody Bellinger card. Go here to check out more pics. This will be coming out on November 18th.
• This reminds me of Bull Durham. Via Brook Smith at Dodgers Nation -- "Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser Will Call Road Games From the Stadium.'

We’re gonna do every game from the broadcast booth at Dodger Stadium. Even when the teams on the road, we’ll be doing it by monitors. We’ll have probably the same four, five people in the booth so we’ll all be tested and we’ll always be like a family that we’ve already been tested, we’re fine.

• Per Mike Lupica at MLB.com -- "'Dodger uniform was meant' for Mookie."

I asked Roberts on Wednesday what it is like to see Betts back in a Dodgers uniform.

“Pure joy,” he said.
