ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question though, having Takashi Saito sure makes losing Gagne a heck of a lot easier. I doubt we'll ever see another reliever as dominating as Gagne was during that infamous run. Saito's approach to closing is so understated, yet he get the job done, day in and day out. The Dodgers really got lucky with him and for such a sweet price. Unheard of, really.
I love Saito's fist pump and 1000 watt smile when he gets the last out.
