Collection: 1989 Dodgers Police Set
Following up on my previous post focused on the 1988 Dodgers Police set, I thought I would finish off the week by sharing the 1989 Dodgers Police set from my collection. (You can see all of the other Police Set I've shared so far by going to this link) Notice that on the top right of each card is a congratulatory note from the LAPD to the Dodgers for their 1988 World Series Championship.
Below is an example of the reverse of the cards. There is a short player biography and a "Say No to Drugs" message.
Here is the remainder of the set. Be sure to click any pic to embiggen.

Hah!! I remember these. What about the Mother's cookies Dodger cards?? lol
ReplyDeleteI remember those sets! they were always great looking cards. I'm gonna have to see if I have any sets of them. I'm not sure I have any.
DeleteThe best thing about these police and Mother's Cookies sets is that they are so cheap. A full set should only cost a few bucks.
it's too bad they didn't treat this set like the 1982 set with cards commemorating the playoffs and world series.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree. The Series commemorative cards from the '82 set are probably the best police cards ever made. The lack of those cards in the '89 set seems like a lost opportunity.
DeleteI have 21 of these cards. I am an Angels fan. I want to see how much these can be sold for. Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteThe Dodgers Police sets are not very valuable. You can usually find complete sets from this year selling for a few dollars- $5 to $6 at the most.
