The next homestand starts Monday evening against the Philadelphia Phillies. Below are some odds and ends for this upcoming homestand.
The Philly Cheesesteak Dog will be available for this homestand only against the Phillies at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas located on the field, loge and reserve levels. It features an all-beef hot dog topped with griddled steak, caramelized onions with provolone cheese on an Italian roll.
The ninth 2016 issue of the new Dodger Insider magazine, featuring Howie Kendrick on the cover, will be available at Dodger Stadium. (see it on the left). The Dodgers merged their previously separate Playbill and Dodger Insider magazines into one publication (at least 80 pages per issue) with a new edition available each homestand. They are distributed at auto gates (one per vehicle) and via Fan Services for those who use alternate transportation.

It is Lakers Night at Dodger Stadium. Folks who ordered a special ticket package will get an exclusive Lakers Night cap. See that on the left. If not already sold out go here for information.
The Laker girls will be on hand in the right-field pavilion from 5:10 p.m. to 7:10 p.m. and on the field for pregame ceremonies. NBA champion Metta World Peace will throw the ceremonial first pitch. A special cocktail, Laker Nation, will be offered by Levy Restaurants featuring Kettle One vodka, grenadine, sweet and sour, Blue Curacao and a splash of cranberry juice on the rocks available at the right and left-field plaza bars.

- The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Coast Guard veteran Lieutenant Commander Jerry Green of Fallbrook. Green conducted maritime search and rescue, law enforcement and counter-narcotic operations across the world, including rescuing several commercial fishing boats off the coasts of Maine, Canada and Newfoundland. He was selected as an initial maritime member of a multi-agency task force to counter-terrorism threats to U.S. ports after the Pan Am 1103 Lockerbie, Scotland disaster. Green retired in 2001 after 26 years of service.
- Giving Moments presented by the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) will take place tomorrow. This year, LADF teamed up with City Year Los Angeles to promote reading and literacy at five middle schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. City Year Los Angeles unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, working with students needing extra support in English Language Arts (ELA) and math, along with attendance and behavior. Top students who participated in the “Take Me Out to the Book Game” reading initiative from each school will be recognized. LADF provided prizes to students as they completed books throughout the year.

The Dodgers will observe Autism Awareness Night and will play host to Autism Speaks. It will include an Autism Speaks PSA as part of pregame ceremonies and will welcome several executives from Autism Speaks. Spencer Harte, an 18 year-old with autism from Autism Speaks, will throw a first pitch for Autism Awareness Night and Holly Robinson Peete will perform the national anthem.
- The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Jay Byrd. A Southern California native and graduate of the University of Southern California, Byrd enlisted in the Army in 1998. He is currently assigned to 1st Battalion 5th Special Forces Group at Fort Campbell, KY. He has served in the 82nd Airborne Tenth Mountain Division and has been deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey. His accolades include five Army Commendation Medals, the Afghan Campaign Medal with one star and the Iraq Campaign Medal with two stars.

Wednesday's game starts at 12:10 PM. Auto gates open at 9:40 AM, and stadium gates open at 10:10 AM.
The Dodgers will play host to the Sparks. Sparks players will throw the ceremonial first pitch, announce the starting lineup and officially begin the game by announcing “It’s time for Dodger baseball!” Allright, a four-man a cappella group, will perform the national anthem.
- The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army Corporal and World War II veteran Noboru “Don” Seki of Los Angeles. A witness of the devastating raid on Pearl Harbor, Seki volunteered for the Army. His unit, the all-Japanese American 442nd Regimental Combat Team, became the most decorated in American history. Seki earned the Bronze Star for valor in action, the National Legion of Honor for his role in the liberation of France and the Purple Heart for the loss of his arm in combat. After the war, Corporal Seki and his wife, Sumiko, worked for decades to raise awareness of the WWII internment of Japanese-American citizens and to preserve the legacy of the Japanese-American soldiers. Their efforts contributed to the creation of a National Monument located in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, dedicated to the 33,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry who served during the war.
