Check out who made it to a Kings game last night. Rams running back Todd Gurley III is wearing the Kings jersey in the middle. To his left is Gavin Lux, Matt Beaty and Dodger prospect Kody Hoese (on the bottom right). I believe the guys to the right of Gurley are also Rams players, but I'm not all that familiar with the team. Photo via @Dodgers on twitter.
Unfortunately, these guys couldn't help the Kings on the ice. They were defeated by the Dallas Stars, 2-1 -- their third loss in a row.
Below are more links to check out:
- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1918 the Brooklyn Robins trade Casey Stengel and George Cutshaw to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Burleigh Grimes, Al Mamaux and Chuck Ward. In 1927 the Brooklyn Robins then trade Burleigh Grimes to the NY Giants, as part of a three team trade. New York sent Jack Scott and Fresco Thompson to the Philadelphia. The Phillies send George Harper to the Giants, and Butch Henline to the Brooklyn. In 1961 Leo Durocher returns to the Dodgers to become their third base coach in Los Angeles.

- Via Gabrielle at Girl at the Game -- "The Cora Conundrum."
There are two themes that link the Astros and Red Sox together in these matters: championships, and Alex Cora. Other teams, like the Yankees, abused the video-replay room, but only two teams won an astounding number of games over their championship seasons with Cora in leadership positions. And Cora has his Boston job in large part due to the success he experienced in his Houston job. But now it looks like he’s about to get two very unpleasant performance reviews.

- Via Dodger Chatter at LA Dodger Talk -- "Ryan Pepiot – Butler’s All-Time Strikeout Leader."
The right-handed Pepiot has reportedly put up good Trackman numbers, which the Dodgers value highly.“Teams that are into the analytic stuff are (more) interested because I have a high spin rate on my pitches,” Pepiot said.
Always an aggressive pitcher, Pepiot says he appreciates how the Dodgers emphasize throwing strikes.
“Some pitchers throw around the zone,” says Pepiot. “The strike zone is our friend. We want to win the race to two strikes.”
- Kenley Jansen is looking for answers, via a tweet from @eccentricladdie:
Kenley went to Driveline to look into what's been happening to his cutter? Oh boy, I am very intrigued to see what he looks like now. Hopefully we see an increase in vertical movement in 2020. https://t.co/ugiXVr4uks pic.twitter.com/ZGhgkh4yTp— 🧩 (@eccentricladdie) January 8, 2020
