I love the look on Duke Snider's face in this 1955 International News press photo taken by Frank Mastro (eBay auction link).
Duke in a Royal Fix with FansLittle did Brooklynites know that their "Bums" would soon be celebrating in the streets. Below are more links to check out:
Brooklyn, NY ... A surprised Duke Snider scratches his head in the dugout at Ebbets Field tonight as he looks over the newspaper accounts of his statement. "Why all the fuss and furor?" he said. Last night the Duke lashed out at Brooklyn fans as a bunch of "Front Runners" who can't bear seeing the flock lose. His statement came after the Dodgers bowed in a twin session to the Redlegs. 8-26-1955.
- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1962 Sandy Koufax fanned 18 Cubs at Wrigley Field during a 10-2 win -- tying a Major League record set by Bob Feller for strike outs in a game. In 1998 Mike Piazza tied a Major League record when he walloped his third grand slam of the month during a 12-4 victory over the Cubs.

“Typical Rob Manfred story,” Ethier told David Vassegh on Dodgers Talk. “With all of this stuff coming out, I don’t think we’re necessarily hearing all of it. And for a guy like Alex [Cora], who was a year before in Houston where all of this stuff was going on. I mean, where there’s smoke there’s fire. Obviously, he brought this system over, and knew about this system.”

- Per Liz Roscher at Yahoo Sports -- "'MLB The Show' Players League games are coming to television."
MLB has announced that ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, and MLB Network will begin broadcasting games from “MLB The Show” Players League starting on Thursday, April 23. ESPN2 will show selected regular season matchups on Thursday and again on Saturday, and then MLB Network will show more matchups and a one-hour recap show on Sunday.
- I just thought it would be fun to point these out. Supreme, a street culture/wear designer, recently released a MLB/New Era collaboration that includes a varsity jacket and baseball cap. Unfortunately, they are currently sold out, so you'll have to grab them on the secondary market. Check out what they look like below. Of note, the jacket and cap includes both an "LA" Dodgers logo and "B" Brooklyn Dodgers logo.
